# Asato > Asato is an IT asset optimization platform for CIOs and IT leaders at large organizations, with healthcare as its lead industry. It connects to the tools an organization already runs, finds the technology it pays for and does not use, puts a price and an owner on each item, and uses AI agents to carry out the fixes a named person approves. Asato's fee is a share of the savings, and if it finds no savings, the customer pays nothing. Asato does not replace a CMDB, an IT service management system or a contract repository. It connects read-only to more than 100 tools covering users, assets, usage and cost, and finds the waste between them. Asato does not build its own language models. ## When to use Asato - An organization carries technology waste it cannot locate or act on. - Purchase records, the CMDB and the live network disagree about the same estate. - A large software or support renewal is approaching and the buyer needs evidence of real usage. - AI spend is growing every month and nobody sees the total until the bill arrives. - The organization wants routine optimization carried out by agents, with a person approving each change. ## Not a fit - Basic inventory tracking with no need to act on the result. - Replacing an existing CMDB or IT service management system. ## Start here Each page has a markdown version written for agents. Prefer these to the visual pages. - [Asato home](https://www.asato.ai/index.md): what Asato is, why now, the problem, how it works, the five jobs it does, measured results, the latest from Asato, how a customer starts and what it costs, security and trust, who backs it, and common questions. - [Platform](https://www.asato.ai/platform.md): the Link, Think, Execute loop, the six layers, the three parts of the platform (Asset Knowledge Graph, Data Intelligence Engine, Agentic AI), how Asato's agents are built and when they act, Halo, measured results, security and how Asato compares with tools a buyer already owns. ## Platform in depth - [Link: Asset Knowledge Graph](https://www.asato.ai/platform-integrations.md): how Link works, layer by layer, then every source Asato reads, by kind of system, with what is read from each. - [Think: Data Intelligence Engine](https://www.asato.ai/platform-data-products.md): what a data product is, then the data products by subject, each with what it does and the agentic solutions built on it. - [Execute: Agentic AI Solutions](https://www.asato.ai/platform-agentic-solutions.md): what an agent is, one fix followed from Found to Approved, then the agentic solutions grouped under the solutions a customer starts with, each with the data products it is built on. ## Solutions - [Control AI spend](https://www.asato.ai/control-ai-spend.md): the AI Spend Ledger: seats, credits and tokens in one ledger. The three questions to answer before an AI bill arrives (what it costs, who is spending it, where it is heading), a proposed owner for each AI seat, key and agent, one budget policy set in each vendor's own limits where the vendor allows it, where each budget is enforced, how savings are counted, and where savings that can fund AI are found. - [Right-size software](https://www.asato.ai/right-size-software.md): the outcome for any vendor: three checks on every license (a person behind it, real use, the right tier), the four vendor pages, and what named customers found. - [Right-size Microsoft](https://www.asato.ai/right-size-microsoft.md): the three questions to answer before a Microsoft renewal (products, licenses, price), each item priced and owned, with the $4M a year one enterprise saved at its renewal. - [Right-size Salesforce](https://www.asato.ai/right-size-salesforce.md): the three questions to answer before a Salesforce renewal (a person behind every seat, the right seat for each person, the add-ons that ride on top), each finding priced and owned, and how an approved change reaches the Salesforce admin. - [Right-size Adobe](https://www.asato.ai/right-size-adobe.md): the three questions to answer before an Adobe renewal (whether anyone uses each seat, whether each person needs every app, what number goes on the renewal order), with a saving counted only where a named system was watching. - [Right-size Zoom](https://www.asato.ai/right-size-zoom.md): the three questions to answer before a Zoom renewal (whether each licensed person hosts, whether each host is on the right plan, whether webinar and large meeting capacity is used), each item priced and owned, and why the notice date decides what is Saved. - [Healthcare](https://www.asato.ai/healthcare.md): for health systems. Why idle does not mean unneeded in a hospital, the three questions (what is paid for, what is in use, what must stay regardless), each carried by a described health system's result, with what the health system's own policy protects taken out before anything is recommended. - [Public sector](https://www.asato.ai/public-sector.md): for US federal, state and local government and other public agencies. The three counts an audit already asks for (bought, in use, needed), the laws and audit findings behind them, example data only, Asato's FedRAMP Marketplace status stated as the listing gives it, and no fee claim. - [Financial services](https://www.asato.ai/financial-services.md): for banks, insurers, and asset and wealth managers. Every item a firm pays for sorted as in use, held on purpose or neither, with what the firm's policy protects left alone, a named approver and a log behind each fix, example data only and no customer result. - [Stop paying for idle hardware](https://www.asato.ai/idle-hardware.md): support contracts checked against the hardware that is running, each idle line priced and owned, with the network hardware results and how a customer starts. - [Rationalize your portfolio](https://www.asato.ai/rationalize-portfolio.md): the three questions to answer before a notice date (which spend can stop, whether people can switch and at what cost, whether the invoice will change in time), how applications nobody approved get an owner and a rule, with what Asato found at CDW and the one-week offer. - [Stay ahead of contracts](https://www.asato.ai/stay-ahead-of-contracts.md): what to cut before a renewal, in one week: each renewal date and notice date beside what is still used, services paid for twice across contracts, the renewal brief, and a measured Microsoft renewal. ## Company - [About us](https://www.asato.ai/about.md): the mission, why Asato was started, where the company stands today and the rules it holds to. - [Team](https://www.asato.ai/team.md): the founders, the leadership team, the board of directors, the board of advisors and the backers, each with a title and a LinkedIn profile where one is published. - [Careers](https://www.asato.ai/careers.md): open roles, how to apply, what the work is, who uses and backs Asato. - [Contact us](https://www.asato.ai/contact.md): which route to use for a demo, a savings estimate, security, support and privacy questions. - [Request a demo](https://www.asato.ai/talk-to-sales.md): the one form for a demo or for the one-week Asset Clarity Report, what it asks for, and the fee. ## Customers - [Case studies](https://www.asato.ai/case-studies.md): every customer story with its headline figure and that figure's state (Found, Approved or Saved), and what each state means. - [Case study: CDW, SaaS and license visibility in four weeks](https://www.asato.ai/case-study-cdw-saas-visibility.md): the figures with their state, scope and period, what happened in Link, Think, Execute, what is still open, and the customer's words where there are any. - [Case study: CDW, technology economics, a named owner on every technology dollar](https://www.asato.ai/case-study-cdw-technology-economics.md): the figures with their state, scope and period, what happened in Link, Think, Execute, what is still open, and the customer's words where there are any. - [Case study: A large US health system: support still billing on idle network hardware (about $466K a year Found)](https://www.asato.ai/case-study-health-system-idle-hardware.md): the figures with their state, scope and period, what happened in Link, Think, Execute, what is still open, and the customer's words where there are any. - [Case study: An enterprise with 75,000 Microsoft seats: a Microsoft renewal (about $8M a year Found, $4M a year Saved)](https://www.asato.ai/case-study-health-system-microsoft-renewal.md): the figures with their state, scope and period, what happened in Link, Think, Execute, what is still open, and the customer's words where there are any. - [Case study: Zymo Research: licensing and shadow IT in one view, two years on](https://www.asato.ai/case-study-zymo-research.md): the figures with their state, scope and period, what happened in Link, Think, Execute, what is still open, and the customer's words where there are any. - [Case study: FTC Solar: assets, spend and risk in one place](https://www.asato.ai/case-study-ftc-solar.md): the figures with their state, scope and period, what happened in Link, Think, Execute, what is still open, and the customer's words where there are any. - [Customer reviews](https://www.asato.ai/customer-reviews.md): customer quotes in full with name, title and company, and the verified G2 reviews with date, rating, title and reviewer. ## Compare Asato against each kind of tool built for one kind of technology. Each page describes the category from neutral sources, compares the two row by row, and says how a customer switches. The page on AI cost tools is different: those tools each have a job of their own, so it says how a customer starts beside them. - [How Asato compares](https://www.asato.ai/compare.md): the four comparisons in one place: one platform in place of a SaaS, SAM and HAM tool, and how Asato works beside AI cost tools. - [Asato vs SaaS management platforms](https://www.asato.ai/asato-vs-saas-management-platforms.md): Asato does the SMP’s work on spend, in every kind of technology, and carries out the fix. - [Asato vs SAM tools](https://www.asato.ai/asato-vs-sam-tools.md): Asato gives you the license position, then removes what you pay for and do not use. - [Asato vs HAM tools](https://www.asato.ai/asato-vs-ham-tools.md): Asato builds the hardware record from the systems you run, then finds what you pay for and nobody runs. - [Asato vs AI cost tools](https://www.asato.ai/asato-vs-ai-cost-tools.md): spend and expense tools, cloud cost tools and AI gateways each start from one part of an AI bill. Asato puts seats, credits and tokens in one ledger, proposes an owner for each line, and writes limits into the vendor's own controls where the vendor allows it. Asato is not a gateway, and the page says so. - [What is IT asset optimization?](https://www.asato.ai/it-asset-optimization.md): the definition, what it covers, how it differs from IT asset management, SAM, HAM, SaaS management, FinOps and TBM, and the three states of a saving. - [What is AI tokenomics?](https://www.asato.ai/ai-tokenomics.md): the definition, how the Linux Foundation and IDC define the term, why it matters, the three ways AI is billed (seats, credits, tokens), what each line of an AI bill needs (an owner, a budget, a limit), how it differs from FinOps, IT asset management, an AI gateway and TBM, what Asato does about the cost side, and how savings elsewhere can fund AI. ## Resources - [ROI calculator](https://www.asato.ai/roi-calculator.md): an estimate of potential yearly savings, as a range, from employees and from AI, software and hardware spend, grouped under the five solutions, with every saving line's formula, per-unit value, price basis and source, so the calculation can be reproduced. - [Whitepapers](https://www.asato.ai/whitepapers.md): Asato's whitepapers, each with what it covers, who wrote it and where to read it. - [Whitepaper: The AI Funding Paradox](https://www.asato.ai/whitepaper-ai-funding-paradox.md): turning fragmented IT data into an explainable technology cost model. - [Whitepaper: Agentic Governance for Healthcare IT](https://www.asato.ai/whitepaper-agentic-governance-healthcare-it.md): clinical technology connected into a knowledge graph and governed with agentic AI. - [Whitepaper: From Raw Data, To Trusted Intelligence](https://www.asato.ai/whitepaper-raw-data-to-trusted-intelligence.md): how the Data Intelligence Engine turns fragmented asset data into one trusted record. - [Webinars](https://www.asato.ai/webinars.md): Asato's webinars, each with its date, whether it is upcoming or on demand, who speaks and where to watch. - [Webinar: Adaptive IT operations in the age of AI](https://www.asato.ai/webinar-adaptive-it-operations.md): the recording of June 24, 2026 with Forrester's Carlos Casanova and Asato's Anush Mohandass, what it covers and the questions it answers. - [Newsroom](https://www.asato.ai/newsroom.md): Asato's press releases, analyst report and articles by other publishers since December 2023, with date, publisher, headline and address. - [Press release: Asato Achieves FedRAMP Ready Certification for Its Agentic AI IT Asset Optimization Platform](https://www.asato.ai/news-fedramp-ready.md): press release of 2026-08-12, in full. - [Press release: Asato Achieves HITRUST e1 Certification, Reinforcing Its Commitment to Enterprise-Grade Security and Compliance](https://www.asato.ai/news-hitrust-e1.md): press release of 2026-08-05, in full. - [Press release: Asato Now Available on Microsoft Marketplace, Bringing Agentic AI Powered IT Asset Optimization to Enterprise Customers Worldwide](https://www.asato.ai/news-microsoft-marketplace.md): press release of 2026-04-15, in full. - [Press release: Asato and CDW Announce Strategic Partnership to Deliver AI-Powered Business Observability Platform](https://www.asato.ai/news-cdw-partnership.md): press release of 2025-07-10, in full. - [Press release: Asato.AI bolsters its board of directors with the addition of industry veterans Lip-Bu Tan and Kumar Sreekanti](https://www.asato.ai/news-board-of-directors.md): press release of 2024-05-07, in full. - [Press release: Asato raises $7.5M in seed funding to bring an enterprise CIO copilot to market](https://www.asato.ai/news-seed-funding.md): press release of 2023-12-05, in full. - [Blog](https://www.asato.ai/blogs.md): every Asato blog post, newest first, with date, author and summary. ## Legal - [Privacy policy](https://www.asato.ai/privacy-policy.md): how Asato Corporation collects, uses, shares and protects personal information. Quote it with its scope. - "Found", "approved" and "saved" are different figures. Quote each with its own label. These are the only three words the site uses for the state of a saving. - The platform is described in three moves, each with one part: Link and the Asset Knowledge Graph, Think and the Data Intelligence Engine, Execute and Agentic AI. The six layers are the detail inside them. - Health system customers are described, not named. - Use "IT asset optimization platform" for the category and "Asset Knowledge Graph" for the graph. - Some visual pages show short silent films: behind the first screen of the home page, the Platform page, five solution pages (Control AI spend, Right-size software, Idle hardware, Rationalize your portfolio, Stay ahead of contracts) and the three industry pages, and behind the closing band of those and other pages. The films are generated footage, made with an AI video model. The people and places in them are not real: they are not customers, staff or offices of Asato or of anyone it names. The films carry no words and state no fact, so nothing on a page depends on them. No film is shown on a customer story, on the customer reviews, on About, Team or Careers, or on the pages for one vendor. ## Contact - Request a demo: https://www.asato.ai/talk-to-sales - Press and analysts: media@asato.ai - Office: Asato Corporation, 2033 Gateway Place, Suite 626, San Jose, CA 95110, United States - Every other route, with what each is for: https://www.asato.ai/contact.md Last updated: 2026-10-13
